Commercial building set for approval as part of landmark project
Detailed plans for a major commercial building as part of the second phase of a landmark logistics project in Rugby have been recommended for approval ahead of a planning committee meeting next week.Tritax Symmetry, Tritax Big Box’s dedicated logistics development company, has brought forward plans for zone D of its Symmetry Park, Rugby project.Comprising 111 acres, Symmetry Park has an outline planning permission to provide up to two million sq ft of logistics floor space. Situated on the M45/A45 strategic highway link, the site is located at the heart of the logistics Golden Triangle network and is an established distribution and manufacturing location. The site forms part of the wider South West Rugby Urban Extension, which is due to provide up to 5,000 homes.Tritax is now seeking reserved matters approval for the construction of a building providing approximately 383,000 sq ft of employment floorspace, along with associated servicing access and yard space. It is intended that 238 car parking spaces be provided as part of the scheme, including 28 electric vehicle charging bays.It is anticipated that the proposal would lead to the creation of approximately 228 temporary jobs during construction and approximately 644 FTE jobs once operational.
