Development consent has been secured for the job-creating South Humber Bank Energy Centre project which will be capable of generating power for thousands of homes.The application for the?the £300m scheme has been granted development consent by business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng.?The order paves the way for the construction and operation of an energy from waste plant of up to 95 megawatts gross capacity and associated development including an electrical connection, landscaping and access.The South Humber Bank Energy Centre will be powered by approximately 620,000 tonnes per annum of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and would generate enough to power about 500,000 homes.The application was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for consideration by EP Waste Management in April 2020 and accepted for examination on 4 May 2020.
