Commercial scheme planned for Rolls-Royce-owned site
An application has been submitted proposing the development of new commercial units on a site owned by Rolls-Royce in Coventry.Manse Opus (Ansty) LLP has lodged plans to construct a building containing three units on plot 1B of Prospero Ansty.The land historically formed part of Rolls-Royce Ansty’s manufacturing site and is located south of Ansty Park, an expanding manufacturing and technology business centre, with occupiers such as the London Taxi Company, Sainsbury’s, Manufacturing Technology & Training Centre and FANUC.Prospero Ansty is now subject to redevelopment and regeneration proposals.Manse Opus’ plans comprise three warehouse buildings with two-storey ancillary office accommodation. The development would provide approximately 247,000 sq of total floorspace.The applicant intends to provide 322 car parking spaces to serve staff and visitors at the facility, including 11 disabled spaces and bicycle shelters for each unit.The wider Prospero Ansty site is expected to provide 1.6 million sq ft of office and research and development space, as well as support the creation of up to 5,000 jobs.
