Jones Homes acquires site for residential development
Jones Homes has acquired a site in South Yorkshire for a development of 100 houses.The developer is set to build 95 houses for private sale and five affordable starter homes on the 12-acre parcel of land off Grange Lane in Maltby, as well as a children’s play area and public green square.This is planned to be the first phase of a new neighbourhood located across a 38-acre site to the west of Maltby Wood and south of Stainton Lane.Full planning permission for the 100-home scheme, which will be known as Lambcote Meadows, was granted by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council in August last year, with outline planning permission also awarded for a further 300 homes on the wider site.As part of the planning agreement for the first phase of development at Lambcote Meadows, Jones Homes is to make contributions of £594,495 towards local facilities.The developer is to invest £239,495 in local education services, £75,000 for an upgraded control system for the traffic lights at Queens Crossroads, £50,000 towards sustainable local transport and £15,000 for bus stop improvements in the local area.Jones Homes will also be paying £215,000 in the form of a Community Infrastructure Levy to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, which will be invested in improving local infrastructure.Work is set to start on the new Maltby site early 2022 and Jones Homes Yorkshire is hoping to release the first homes for sale in spring 2022.
