Detailed plans for housing at former mill
Detailed plans have been submitted for a housing development at the site of a former mill on side of the Leeds-Liverpool canal in West Yorkshire.Casa by Moda has submitted an application to Leeds City Council for development at the former Airedale Mills site.The application site is located between the River Aire and the Leeds-Liverpool Canal in the village of Rodley.The brownfield land has been vacant since the 1970s following the demolition of the Airedale Mills.The reserved matter application seeks permission for a development of 66 homes, comprising apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses.A total of ten affordable houses are proposed.The project team includes DPP, STEN Architecture, Golby + Luck Landscape Architects, Brooks Ecology, Ecological Estates Ltd, ARP Geotechnical and ARO Geotechnical.Outline planning permission was granted in 2019 for the construction of 69 new residential units and a new swing bridge.Further details on the new bridge are due to be submitted by Dynamic Capital shortly.
