Plans revealed for 300-home development
Plans have been revealed for a development of more than 300 apartments, together with communal, co-working and creative space, on a site in Leeds. The proposals for Mabgate Yard, on Mabgate in Leeds, aim to create a landmark development to a brownfield. The proposals are centred around a communal heart, acting as a focal point for residents to meet, relax and collaborate, and the development will also benefit from landscaped outdoor areas and extensive planting.A total of about 310 high-quality studio, one-, two- and three-bed apartments will be created, available solely for rent. The development is set to be sustainable, and opportunities for on-site energy generation will be explored. The proposals are being brought forward by Yorkshire developer HBD, and a virtual public consultation has now been launched.A hybrid planning application, seeking permission for the principle of development, is expected to be submitted by February 2022. Further ‘reserved matters’ planning applications would be submitted in the second half of 2022 to agree the details of appearance, access, landscaping, layout and scale.
