JV established for £280m Leeds scheme
A joint venture has been established to bring forward a £280m development in Leeds featuring apartments, office space, a multi-storey car park and aparthotel.Leeds-based property investor and car parking operator Town Centre Securities (TCS) has entered into a joint venture with Glenbrook to bring forward the Whitehall Riverside scheme.Pre-application plans will be considered by Leeds City Council’s Plans Panel next week (27 January 2022) for a development comprising 215,000 sq ft of grade A office space across two buildings, a 478 space CitiPark multi-story car park and travel hub, and a 108 key aparthotel.A separate, detailed planning application is proposed by Glenbrook for up to 532 apartments across two buildings of 15 and 18 storeys with ground floor commercial units. The proposals include extensive residents’ amenities split across the ground floor and mezzanine with terrace garden overlooking the River Aire.New landscaping and public realm will be created to improve connectivity to, and further complement the existing riverside environment with a series of interlinked pedestrian and cycling routes to support health and well-being whilst also attracting new residents and visitors to the scheme.TCS has owned the site for a number of years. It worked with Leeds City Council to bring forward the initial phases of No.1 Whitehall Riverside (offices), Whitehall Waterfront (residential) and most recently the Premier Inn (hotel) which was completed in 2017.The design and professional team include Enjoy Design, Sheppard Robson, re-form, Curtins and ID Planning.Earlier this week (19 January 2022), Glenbrook acquired a 5.12-acre site on Kirkstall Road for a development of more than 600 build-to-rent (BTR) apartments.
