Highland Council secures sixteen new homes for Maryburgh

The Highland Council has taken possession of sixteen new affordable homes for rent built on the site of the former Primary School in Maryburgh.Cllr Angela Maclean and Margaret Paterson visit the new homes before tenants move in?The development is the first to be built in the village in many years and has added much needed affordable, attractive, and energy-efficient properties to Maryburgh’s housing stock.All of the ground floor units have been built to meet varying needs, and five are fully wheelchair liveable. The remainder are homes for a range of families.Funding for the project has come from the Highland Council and the Scottish Government.The council would like to thank CHAP Construction, KLMP, Helica and CDMM for their dedication to the development.Local councillors Margaret Paterson and Angela MacLean joined housing officers for a tour of the new homes before tenants start to move in.The council said it is looking forward to welcoming tenants to their new homes over the coming weeks.
