Plans in pipeline for homes and employment scheme
A major mixed-use scheme, featuring homes and employment space, is in the pipeline for St Helens borough.Outline plans have been submitted by Hollins Strategic Land LLP and Messrs PS and DK Richardson for the development on land west of Lodge Lane, Haydock.Up to 130 homes and one-acre of employment use are envisaged as part of the proposals.Green infrastructure and public open space will also be retained, while there will be a residential and commercial vehicular access point off Lodge Lane.The plot comprises a triangular area of land west of Lodge Lane at Haydock, between it and the M6 motorway, which is on an embankment where it passes the site.Across the motorway is the extensive development of the Haydock Lane industrial estate. To the north, the site is bounded by The Parks office development and across Lodge Lane is a housing development, a hotel, Haydock racecourse and open countryside.
