Plans to extend city centre student scheme given go-ahead
Plans to extend a student accommodation block to provide a further 61 bedrooms have been given the go-ahead by Birmingham City Council.The news will mean that Capitol Students will remove combustible cladding from Londonderry House on Newton Street, and add a further three floors to the building, taking it to eight storeys high.Capitol Students will also carry out an internal re-fit of the the existing student accommodation, including ground floor amenity space, including a gym and leisure space and alterations to the ground floor frontage.Londonderry House sits on top of an NCP car park on the corner of Newton Street and Dale End.
