Plans revealed for Northumberland development
Plans have been submitted for a 54-home residential development in a Northumberland village.Northumberland Estates is behind the scheme which looks to create the homes on a 6.5 acre-site to the south of Grange Road in Shilbottle. The proposed housing will include seven two-bed homes along with 29 three-bed units – six of which will be affordable – and 18 four-bed houses. An access road will be included to serve the residential dwellings across with private drives, garages and visitor parking, and the site will be accessed through a new road from Grange Road which has been implemented as part of a previous planning application for the site.A design and access statement submitted with the application said that the proposals will “look to create a contextual development that will sit comfortably alongside any existing residential buildings”.It added that the scheme will become a “positive addition” to the area, and will enhance its profile by providing a “distinctive community atmosphere”.The plans will go before Northumberland planning committee in due course.
