Affordable homes plan for city centre
Proposals are being drawn up for an affordable homes scheme in Preston city centre.A working group at Preston City Council is at the initial stages of creating a proposal to bring forward the housing on a council-owned site on the corner of Grimshaw Street and Church Street. The proposal will include the option of working in partnership with a registered provider to implement a scheme on behalf of the council. This scheme, located in the heart of the Stoneygate area of Preston city centre, will contribute to the Stoneygate masterplan. The blueprint aims to regenerate the area creating a distinctive, characterful, sustainable, vibrant and successful ‘urban village’ which the city can be proud of.
