Refusal for Solihull residential project
An application proposing the redevelopment of a supermarket site in Solihull to pave the way for a residential-led project has been refused despite being recommended for approval.MACC Group sought the go-ahead to create 172 residential units on the site of the former Morrison’s supermarket on Stratford Road.The scheme comprises 88 one- and two-bed apartments, along with an 84-bed care home.Approximately 5,800 sq ft of commercial space is also proposed, which would accommodate a range of ancillary uses, including beauty/hair salon, bistro restaurant, gym and entertainment centre.Despite this, members voted to refuse the scheme.
