Deferred homes plans set to move forward
Deferred plans to build dozens of homes on a former manufacturing site in West Lancashire look set to advance.The site, on Orrell Lane, Burscough, is presently vacant but was last in use by Universal Bulk Handling.It manufactured tank-containers used for transporting bulk liquids and gases and ceased trading in December 2019. The entire plot has been vacant and available for sale since January 2020.Lined up is transforming the area into 54 three and four-bedroom homes, with new access, car parking, landscaping and other associated works.A number of industrial buildings on the site would be demolished, as part of the scheme brought forward by Prospect GB and Baxi Partnership.The application was deferred at West Lancashire Borough Council’s planning committee meeting in March, with the plans now returning at the latest gathering on 21 April.Approval has been recommended.
