Plans submitted for Greggs and Starbucks drive thru
Plans have been submitted to create a drive-thru Starbucks and Greggs bakers in Sunderland, which could create up to 20 jobs.Commercial property developer and investor UK Land Estates is behind the development on the southern edge of Pennywell Industrial Estate next to the A183 Chester Road and Hylton Road roundabout. The scheme, on the site of the former Dewhirst clothing factory, looks to enhance the range of food and drink facilities for those working on the estate as well as local residents and people coming in and out of the city. The two units would share a 40-space car park with two electric vehicle charging points and eight cycle parking spaces. They would join a Wickes store, Aldi supermarket and KFC on the estate. An application for planning permission has been submitted to Sunderland City Council, which is expected to discuss the plans at a meeting on 6 May.
