Your Housing gets permission to deliver 380 new affordable homes in Cheshire
Cheshire West and Chester Council has granted planning permission for an application by Your Housing Group to build 380 new homes in Northwich, Cheshire.The development will bring more affordable housing to Northwich with a range of homes available for shared ownership, Rent to Buy, affordable rent, and social rent.Additionally, around 30% of properties will be available on the open market for outright sale and private rent. The development, which will be known as Orchard View, will comprise a mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes.Your Housing plans to add native trees, hedging, and landscaping to complement existing greenery and retain as much of the original ecological infrastructure as possible.Your Housing says it wants to reduce development pressure on the greenbelt while meeting current and future housing needs of the area. The 380-home development will be built by Your Housing Group in partnership with Anwyl Homes.The land is located off Hargreaves Road, to the west of Griffiths Park, and includes parts of the former ICI Wade Works site.This development has been funded through Your Housing Group’s Strategic Partnership with Homes England.Your Housing Group was announced as one of the government Housing Agency’s Strategic Partners in January 2019, receiving £87.5m of funding in line with the government’s aspiration to provide 40,000 affordable new homes across the country.The land was purchased in December 2019.Remediation work is underway and building work is expected to start on site in late summer 2022.Image: Land off Hargreaves Road, Northich, Cheshire, where Your Housing is building its new developmentRead next: Stonewater launches three regional ‘hubs’ amid move to hybrid-working modelAre you a social housing professional?
