Approval Lined Up for Bristol Apartment Plans
Plans for a 26-apartment scheme in Bristol could secure approval next week.Bristol City Council Housing is behind the application, which concerns the former Greville Elderly Persons Home on Lacey Road. The facility was demolished in 2020, with a planning report noting that it had “been empty for a number of years and was deemed surplus to requirements prior to its demolishing”.Lined up now are 26 homes across a mix of bungalows, two-storey houses and flats. A total of 35 parking spaces are also proposed. The report – drawn up ahead of the planning committee’s meeting on 18 May – said: “The principle of 26 new affordable houses on a brownfield site is fully supported.”While not a particularly high density, the scheme will achieve a satisfactory density of development within the existing site constraints with an acceptable impact on ecology and trees.”Approval has been recommended.
