Nottinghamshire housing development nears approval
An application proposing the construction of up to 210 homes in Nottinghamshire could soon be approved at a planning committee meeting later this week.Barratt Homes is seeking outline approval to build the properties on the northern side of Hollygate Lane in Cotgrave. The application site comprises two arable fields of approximately 29.3 acres. The scheme would incorporate a mix of house types from two to five bedrooms. However, the amount and tenure of affordable housing would be discussed with Rushcliffe Borough Council at a later date.A statement lodged on behalf of the applicant with the council – whose planning committee meets on 9 June – said: “The development will also contribute to the early delivery of homes, helping the council meet its requirements for a five-year supply of housing land.”There are no adverse impacts that would significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefits.”A report for the committee added: “Not only would the scheme accord with the development plan as a whole, but the balance of material considerations also weighs in its favour.”Consequently, it is recommended that the planning committee support the resolution to grant planning permission, subject to conditions.”
