A development including apartments, an office and gym has been proposed for a site in Sheffield city centre.D&S Properties SPV has submitted a full planning application to Sheffield City Council for a development on Broad Street.Planning permission is sought for the construction of a new building of up to seven storeys.The property would comprise 55 one-bed and two two-bed private rented sector (PRS) apartments, together with an office and residential gym on the ground floor.A planning statement accompanying the plans said: “The aim of the scheme is to bring a long-term vacant city-centre site back into use to provide a high-quality residential building and contribute to the requirement for additional housing in Sheffield.”The proposed development has been designed to create a strong frontage and create an animated corner on Broad Street.”It added that the development would “create new jobs associated with construction, sales and then operation of the residential development”.A former public house is located on the site, which is currently derelict.
