Industrial park expansion steps forward
Detailed plans for additional units at an established industrial park in Newport have been approved.Telford & Wrekin Council sought reserved matters approval for phase two, plot two, of NiPark.NiPark has outline permission for approximately 375,000 sq ft of business, general industrial, warehouse and distribution floorspace.The detailed plans comprise three 10,000 sq ft units which aim to create jobs in the agricultural technology sector.A statement filed on behalf of the applicant said: “The proposed development is in accordance with national, regional and local planning policies and follows the principles of the documents previously mentioned.”It added that the project “will not have any adverse impact on the heritage or ecological aspect of the site and aims to improve it” and “helps to address the need to support sustainable economic growth and facilitate job creation within the area”.The scheme has now been backed, subject to conditions.
