Seven-storey Chester apartment building plans drawn up
A seven-storey apartment building housing more than 100 flats in Chester is in the pipeline under newly-lodged plans.PL City Place Ltd and Latimer have submitted an application to Cheshire West and Chester Council seeking permission for the 133-unit building on land at Premier House, Charterhall Drive. The site lies within parcels eight and nine of the City Gate development site located between the Shropshire Union Canal and Chester railway station which benefits from outline permission for a major mixed-use scheme. The proposed scheme constitutes the first major reserved matters application pursuant to the outline permission, and seeks to commence development on site in advance of the permission expiring in 2024.It would provide 57 one-bedroom flats and 76 two-bedroom flats.A planning statement said: “The proposed development is highly sustainable by virtue of its locational benefits and also due to the energy efficient and low carbon features which are to be incorporated.”There is a suitable level of parking provided given the accessibility of the Site to public transportation links, while electric vehicle charging points and cycle storage infrastructure are also included within the scheme. A notable benefit of the scheme is the extension to the publicly accessible towpath to the north of the Shropshire Union Canal.”It added: “The proposed development would provide a good standard of internal and external amenity for all future occupiers and benefits from a shared roof terrace at first floor level.”Overall, the proposed development complies with the parameters established by the parent outline permission and satisfies the policies and guidance of the Cheshire West and Chester Local Plan.”
