South West business park expansion lined up for approval
Plans to extend a South West business park look set to move ahead next week, with safeguarding and creating new jobs considered to be a “significant material consideration” of the proposals.Rhino Land is behind the application, with Zesta Planning appointed to draw up an outline development for land adjacent to Duddage Manor Business Park in Tewkesbury. The site in question covers about 215,000 sq ft and forms part of a much wider landholding.Lined up are outline proposals for six commercial units and six starter units for start-up businesses to develop. The wider masterplan indicates a new site access off the Brockeridge Road, as well as space for about 100 car parking spaces. The proposal has been formulated in line with the aspirations of the Joint Core Strategy (JCS) and emerging Tewkesbury Borough Plan to 2031 (TBP).The JCS sets an aspirational target of bringing forward 474 acres of employment land to service 39,500 jobs over the planned period, while the TBP aims to assist in this target through the allocation of employment land, including the expansion of the Duddage Manor Business Park.”At a time where there is a shortage in the delivery of employment land in Tewkesbury borough and across the wider JCS area, the ability to boost this supply with additional employment land can only be a positive,” said a planning statement. The application is set to go before the authority’s planning committee on 16 August, with a recommendation to delegate the decision to the technical planning manager to grant approval.
