Employment scheme plotted in Trafford
A scheme has been lodged for 83,000 sq ft of employment space in Trafford.Landowner Ireef – UK Logistics Propco Ltd has brought forward the scheme which involves the redevelopment of the land at Neary Way, Urmston.A total of 11 employment units and parking and infrastructure are proposed. The units will range in size from 2,000 sq ft to 14,300 sq ft.The site encompasses ten acres of largely vacant land and was previously in use as a car sales showroom, which has since been demolished.A document submitted as part of the application to Trafford Council said the scheme will provide a variety of socio-economic benefits synonymous with employment development. It added that these principally relate to job provision during both the construction and operational phases. The document said: “Record levels of take-up over the past 18 months show no signs of slowing, but with limited availability in the area and the pipeline of supply being reliant on two schemes that are making their way through the planning process, the scheme offer a real opportunity to assist in the economic growth of the region through provision of new high quality employment units in a suitable location.”
