Plans in for more than 150 homes at major development
Plans have been lodged for more than 150 homes as part of the next phase of a major South Yorkshire development.Harworth Group, supported by Stantec and JRP, has submitted a reserved matters application to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council for the residential development at Waverley.Planning permission is sought for 156 homes on Waverley Central Square – Parcels C and D.The development would comprise a mix of one-, two-, three and four-bedroom properties, which would range from apartments, to terraced and semi-detached dwellings.A total of 48 properties (31 per cent) would be affordable housing.A design and access statement submitted as part of the application said: “Overall, the proposed layout and supporting illustrations have been developed based on a clear set of design parameters.”These principles ensure a well-designed detailed proposal with careful consideration given to a range of dwellings in a pleasant, safe and secure environment which accords with the approved Design Code.”New residents will benefit from links to public transport, footpath/cycle permeability with well-defined public green spaces.”These combined elements will ensure a pleasant, attractive and thriving environment to live.”In total, Harworth’s plans for Waverley comprise up to 3,890 homes, shops, restaurants, a primary school, leisure and community facilities and 310 acres of open space.
