Work underway on Devon housing scheme
Work is underway at a housing development which will provide 125 properties in the Devon village of Willand.Bellway has started construction at Fox Mill Gardens. A total of 81 three, four and five-bedroom houses will be built for private sale, while there will be 44 affordable homes available through rent or shared ownership.Tim Lund, sales director for Bellway South West, said: “Now construction is underway at Fox Mill Gardens, we are looking forward to delivering a high-quality range of three, four and five-bedroom homes for sale in the village.”We worked closely with the local authority to make sure the development will be sympathetic with the surrounding landscape, and many of the trees and hedgerows on the site will be retained in line with that, alongside new planting.”This is Bellway’s first development in Devon for several years and we hope that bringing the reputation and build quality of a five-star builder to the county can pave the way for future sites in the area – including a forthcoming development in Crediton which is in the pipeline.”As well as providing new homes, Bellway will be making a financial investment into the local area as part of the planning agreement for Fox Mill Gardens, including £250,000 for Willand School, £125,000 for off-site open space and £100,000 towards public transport.
