Justification for a framework agreement, the duration of which exceeds four years: This framework shall be let for an initial 10 years with the option to extend in periods of up to 5 years at a time, possibly, in total, up to 30 years. The NW Cambridge Development is a multiphase, mixed use scheme, likely to be procured over several stages over a period of 10 to 20 years.
Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The University of Cambridge is developing land in its ownership to provide key worker and collegiate accommodation, academic and research facilities, community facilities and private housing. This proposed framework contract is for the initial provision of approximately 230 complete underground bin units, each with an approximate minimum capacity of 5000 litres, to serve Phase 1 of the Development, and for an ongoing supply of further quantities of approximately 320 units, to serve future phases of development until its completion, currently scheduled for 2022. Deliveries of units for phase 1 shall be required from approximately December 2013 to 2016. It is the University’s intention that prices are supplied and payments shall be made in GBP for the entire duration of this framework agreement and for all call off contracts related to it.
