Plans approved for Torbay extra care scheme
Plans to build a 72-strong extra care development in Torbay have been backed.The application concerns a brownfield site between Barton Road, McKay Avenue and Newton Road.Proposed are for apartments in a building ranging from four to seven storeys, with each being wheelchair-adapted.The mix would be one and two bedrooms above ground floor retail to make the scheme “financially and commercially viable”.The application went before Torbay Council’s planning committee with a recommendation for approval, with the proposals having now been backed.
