Approval tipped for more than 100 Shropshire homes

More than 100 homes could be built on agricultural land in Shropshire if a housebuilder’s proposals are approved at committee next week.Anwyl Homes is seeking full planning permission to build 106 properties to the south of Welshpool Road in Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury.The scheme comprises a mix of one- to four-bedroom properties, 20 per cent of which would be allocated as affordable.A statement filed with Shropshire Council on behalf the applicant said: “It is evident that the proposal responds positively to the objectives and policies of the adopted development plan.”The council’s northern planning committee will review the application on 10 January.A report for the committee said: “It is considered that development as proposed offers in principle a range of dwellings and public open space, along with public highway and transportation, that complies with the adopted masterplan.”
