Adra gets green light for 21-home retirement-living scheme in Caernarfon
North Wales’ largest housing association has received the green light to deliver 21 later-living apartments in Caernarfon.Adra’s redevelopment of Garej Lleiod, a garage site on Llanberis Road, Caernarfon, will include the creation of a four-floor residential building with 21 flats for individuals over 55 years of age.It will also feature a community lounge, buggy/bike store, bin store, parking spaces for 16 vehicles, and landscaped areas.The building will comprise seven one-bedroom flats for two people and 14 two-bedroom flats for three people.Daniel Parry, Adra’s director of Development, said: “We’re delighted that the Planning Committee has given the green light to the development.“It’s a pleasure to be able to work with Cyngor Gwynedd to provide more affordable homes in the county, to try and meet the strong demand that exists locally.“The site is included in the Gwynedd and Môn joint local development plan and will directly contribute towards addressing a high demand for housing that exists in the county.“Adra has also made a firm commitment in its corporate plan to build 900 new homes by 2025, increasing its number of properties to over 7,500, as well as investing £60m in its current properties.”Are you a social housing professional?
