Derbyshire residential scheme set to advance
An application proposing the redevelopment of land at a Derbyshire farm to provide more than 40 homes looks set to move forward.Cameron Homes has brought forward a pair of applications to transform the site of New House Farm on Old Etwall Road, Mickleover. The company is seeking full planning permission and listed building consent to convert the existing farmhouse and associated barns into six dwellings, along with the construction of 37 new properties.Plans comprise a mixture of one- to four-bedroom units.South Derbyshire District Council’s planning committee will review the application on 7 February.A report for the committee said: “The increased housing is considered to be a benefit as it will help SDDC meet its housing targets and maintain a five-year housing supply, taking pressure off speculative unallocated land.”In addition, whilst there are concerns regarding services in the surrounding area, the application would result in developer contributions towards open space, local services and infrastructure.”
