Procurement of global trade market intelligence services.
The Trade Board Limited (TBL) plans to implement projects to bridge knowledge gaps. One such project will involve the integration of a market intelligence tool for the TBL’s website. This tool will allow our exporters to identify new markets for their products, potential buyers, requirements for exporting to different markets, and customs duties information. It is anticipated that implementation of this project will result in the expansion of export trade, particularly into untapped markets around the world. This expansion of export will help to reduce/eliminate the country’s trade deficit, spur economic growth and improve the standard of living for all Jamaicans.
TBL desires to integrate a market intelligence toolkit into its website.
It will require up to date trade resources that will allow users to:
discover new and potential markets for their products including potential buyers and business opportunities
find market information such as customs duties, access requirements for specific goods and procedures for entry
ascertain import and export compliance requirements for various countries.
The toolkit shall be plug-and-play, easily integrated into the TBL website, with different data components accessible via plugins and or secure application programming interface (API).
The plugins and APIs shall provide access to:
information on how to conduct business in a target market
the identity countries for sourcing and or exporting to, any given product
top potential markets for given product identified by name, description or, HS code. Search various data sources by product name and or HS code classification.
trade profile of countries around the world and their product and industry specific market trends
new business opportunities
companies involved in different industries
all required documents needed for trading goods
a customs duty calculator
import and export control measures (inclusive of quotas, licenses, and permit requirements)
local customs classification in addition to HS code
tax policies and compliance requirements in different markets
preferential trade agreements
an easily accessible and up to date exchange rate calculator
business guides for different countries, regions, free trade areas
taxation governance and relevant laws
Data shall be kept current and be presented in a manner that is accessible and readable. Users should be able to create or access summary of data presented and be able to, via hyperlinks, drill down to required specifics for cross border trade in a particular industry or product, in a specified country. The implemented toolkit shall allow the TBL to access usage reports for trend analysis for products being researched, markets users are interested in and widgets/API being utilized.
