Plans for 250 homes back before planners

Detailed plans for the construction of 250 homes in Nottinghamshire are to go back before planners after a decision was deferred last month.Avant Homes Central is seeking reserved matters approval to develop land at Shilo Way, Awsworth.Extending to approximately 24.7 acres, the site includes five field parcels divided by hedgerows and other vegetation. A dwelling and several outbuildings associated with White House Farm are located to the South East.A second dwelling lies in the middle of the site, known as The View, but this is not included in the plans.Avant Homes’ proposals comprise a mix of two- to five-bed properties, 50 of which would be classed as affordable housing, including detached, semi-detached and terraced units.The application was first brought before Broxtowe Borough Council’s planning committee on 1 February with a recommendation to grant planning permission.Members deferred a decision on the application to seek amended plans in relation to the impact upon the residential amenity of the occupier of The View and clarification in respect of construction vehicle access to the site.The scheme will now be reviewed on 8 March, with a recommendation for approval still in place.
