Planning granted for £58m resi scheme
Plans to build 250 new homes in the Nottinghamshire village of Awsworth are set to move forward after Avant Homes Central was given the go-ahead to deliver the £58m scheme.The development will be built on a 25-acre site on Shilo Way, two miles from Ilkeston town centre. Avant acquired the land in April last year and is set to begin work on the homes next month.The scheme will be known as Bennerley View and consist of a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, 20% of which have been designated as affordable housing. Avant will also contribute £1.7m to support local education, public transport and open green space maintenance.The overall development is expected to take around four years to complete.Chris Coley, managing director at Avant Homes Central, said: “Awsworth is a highly sought-after and well-connected location and Bennerley View will support meeting the need for high-quality new homes in the area.“We look forward to moving our plans forward with the commencement of groundworks at the site in April.”
