Persimmon to convert former Dundee whisky factory into new homesThe house builder has announced its plan to construct 71 new, energy-efficient homes in Kingsway East, with construction scheduled to start this summer.The once-famous whisky bottling plant site shut down in the mid-1990s and was demolished in 2020 to make way for a new development.The area is no stranger to residential development, having previously been home to post-war prefabs, which were cleared in the 1960s to make way for the distiller’s bottling plant. With planning permission for the new homes given by Dundee City Council, Persimmon will now breathe new life into the area and return the site to its former use.Persimmon plans to announce further details of their vision for the site in June 2023.
