Planning approval for Torbay Development Agency in Paignton
Full planning consent has been granted for the development of 101 homes on the western edge of Paignton.Planning and design consultancy Boyer (part of Leaders Romans Group) worked on the application, which has been approved by Torbay Council’s Planning Committee, on behalf of Torbay Development Agency (TDA).The vacant site, located on both sides of Preston Down Road in Paignton, will feature a landscape-led development with a variety of homes: from one to four bedroom units. Thirty per cent will be affordable housing and the new homes will go some way towards meeting the council’s five-year housing land supply.Boyer coordinated and project managed the application from the pre-application stage through to the planning committee decision, working with the TDA team and council officers to overcome ecology and lighting challenges and achieve a positive outcome.Jemma Shorrock, associate director in Boyer’s Cardiff office, said: “This is a well thought-through scheme which will deliver much needed homes to this popular town.”
