Approval for Bridgend homes
Revamped plans for a residential scheme in Bridgend have been backed. The application concerns land east of Cwm Felin and south of Craig Terrace/Ebenezer Terrace, Blackmill, which would be developed into 28 affordable dwellings.Proposed is a mix of two-bed and three-bedroom dwellings and one-bedded flats, with car parking, landscaping and associated works. The application site is a vacant area of land situated between Isfryn Industrial Estate to the east, existing housing on Cwm Felin to the west and the Ogwr Fach River to the south, in the village of Blackmill.A previous scheme had proposed building 36 homes, however in July 2022, applicant Barratt Homes South Wales submitted a revised proposal to construct 28 affordable homes on the land.Plans were deferred at a May committee meeting to allow an additional consultation to be undertaken. The application went before Bridgend County Borough Council’s development control committee on 15 June with a recommendation for approval and has now been backed.
