Berkeley bags £2.2bn Birmingham estate renewal
The £2.2bn estate renewal scheme, set over 60 hectares, will take more than 20 years to deliver building 7,000 homes, new schools, 14 hectares of green space as well as two public parks.The city council’s cabinet is not set on 27 June to sign a development agreement with St Joseph’s.Cllr John Cotton, leader of Birmingham City Council, said: “The delivery of Ladywood Estate Regeneration Scheme is the city’s most significant housing regeneration and redevelopment opportunity and key to the sustainable growth and development of the city.“The regeneration of Ladywood Estate will address both social and environmental issues and deliver significant benefits for the local community and wider Birmingham economy.”
