Abri to deliver 75 shared ownership homes in Slough
Seventy five shared ownership homes are planned as part of a wider regeneration of the former Horlicks factory in Slough, Berkshire.Housing provider Abri is working with Berkeley Homes to deliver the 75 properties in the aptly named Horlicks Quarter.Fergus Cruikshank, Abri’s head of land and planning, said:“As the cost of living continues to impact many, including those wishing to get on the housing ladder, we’re pleased that all these flats will be available for shared ownership, making home ownership a reality for many.“These homes form part of Abri’s larger commitment to help tackle the housing crisis, building an average of 1,000 homes a year.”Berkeley Homes is transforming the brownfield site into a new community, with 1,300 homes and open spaces. The regeneration also includes the restoration of the factory, its clock towers, and chimney. As a strategic partner for Homes England, Abri’s 75 homes will be delivered using Homes England grant funding. They will be delivered across two blocks of flats, with 40 one-bed and 35 two-beds flats, all for shared ownership. The homes are expected to be built by 2025.Are you a social housing professional?
