West Bromwich site earmarked for apartments
A site in West Bromwich has been earmarked for the construction of an 11-storey apartment building.CIS Consultancy has lodged outline plans with Sandwell Council for the redevelopment of 51 Green Street, Kenrick Park.The application site is presently occupied by a large five- bedroom detached dwelling.Although the surrounding context is predominantly residential in character, the site is in close proximity to “a wide variety of commercial and industrial services and facilities”.Proposals include 60 one- and two-bedroom properties, with associated landscaping and car parking.The scale, design and appearance of development will be considered at the reserved matters stage “but will represent a reduction in scale in comparison to the existing adjacent 17-storey residential developments in Kenrick Park”.A planning statement added: “The site is well-placed to deliver housing which supports the identified housing needs in Sandwell and the wider Black Country area.”
