Plans in for Exeter apartments
Plans to bring forward 101 studio apartments in Exeter have been revealed.The application concerns a brownfield site off Victoria Street comprising a large workshop-style building, various areas of car parking and a two-storey dwelling.Proposed is demolishing the existing buildings and bringing forward a co-living development, as well as communal space.This would be across three connected buildings.The scheme would be car-free but include cycle storage with a 154-strong capacity.An application submitted to Exeter City Council said: “The scheme proposes the redevelopment of a redundant brownfield site in a central and highly sustainable location where there is extremely good access to public transport, services and employment opportunities.”The use of the site to a provide a form of housing for which there is a clear and growing need is therefore considered to be entirely appropriate.”The application will be decided on in due course.
