Flintshire affordable homes set to advance
Affordable homes on vacant pastureland in Flintshire are in line for approval ahead of a committee meeting next week.Land at Rhewl Fawr Road, Penyffordd, Holywell, has been earmarked for the proposed construction of 21 properties.Proposed is 16 three-bedroom houses and five two-bed detached homes. Also included is private amenity space and two or three car parking spaces provided for each property. In 2021, planning permission was granted for a development of 23 houses on the same land, which expired in 2021.Following the adoption of the Local Development Plan, the applicant Black Dove Developments has amended the application. Now the scheme is proposed as entirely affordable which will be secured through the section 106 agreement.A report for Flintshire County Council’s planning committee on 30 August said: “Matters including highway safety, drainage and impact on existing residential amenity have been considered at length and are considered acceptable.”It is therefore recommended that planning permission is granted subject to conditions and the applicant entering into a Section 106 Agreement in relation to public open space and to secure the housing mix and tenure of the dwellings.”
