Residential plans for former police station
A former police station could be redeveloped to create housing if newly submitted plans get the go-ahead.A full planning application has been submitted to North East Lincolnshire Council for the redevelopment of the police station on Princes Road in Cleethorpes. The building dates to 1932, with a more modern extension to the rear.Planning permission is sought for the partial demolition of the extension, the conversion of the police station into ten apartments and the construction of 11 new homes. The plans also include gardens and amenity areas, parking and landscaping.A design and access statement prepared by Ross Davy Associates submitted as part of the application said: “The site is within the local plan boundary and a sustainable location. It benefits from being within an area for regeneration.”The scheme reflects the pattern of the local area and respects adjacent residents.”
