Residential scheme planned for Leicestershire village
A development featuring up to 56 homes has been proposed for a Leicestershire village.Church Farm Billesdon Ltd has lodged outlined plans with Harborough District Council to develop land at Gaulby Road, Billesdon.Extending to about 15.9 acres, the site consists of several fields of agricultural pasture.It is bounded to the west by the former Leicestershire County Council transport depot and further agricultural fields, with the eastern boundary adjoining residential properties and the built-up form of the village.Lined up is the provision of 34 self-build/custom plots and 40 per cent affordable housing – equating to 22 ‘first home’ units.”The proposal fulfils the economic, social, and environmental objectives considered key to sustainable development by delivering high-quality growth in a suitable location, whilst ensuring protection of the environment and local character,” a planning statement said.
