A defence authority require unobtrusive automatically inflated lifejackes, for use where armed forces personnel need a low profile.
This will cover:
ship’s maintenance
boarding ops
seamanship evolution
high speed boat operations
when a fall could render the wearer unconscious and unable to manually activate the lifejacket
Basic requirements
The hazardous life jacket must have:
twin buoyancy stalls in a halter neck style valise, fitted with oral inflation tubes
a whistle and inflation mechanism with a manual override facility
The webbing waist belt must incorporate
a NATO standard helicopter lifting loop
a reliable and well proven buckle closure
It is to be made entirely from highly durable proofed synthetic materials.
