Housebuilder vows to back Exeter community

A South West housebuilder is injecting more than £5.4m into the Exeter community.As part of its St Michaels’s Meadow development on Chudleigh Road, which will provide 206 three and four-bedroom homes, Redrow South West has confirmed it is investing the money into the area.As part of the housebuilder’s commitment to creating “thriving communities”, Redrow is contributing more than £1.1m to education services. This will include more than £384,000 to support local secondary schools and a further £384,000 will be invested into primary schools.The investment also includes more than £780,000 towards road improvements, in addition to £360,500 to improve and upgrade public transport services.A pedestrian and cycle bridge will be created, in addition to supporting the Loram Way cycle link.More than £226,00 will also go towards enhancing Alphington’s public realm, which will include improvements to green spaces in the area.Sian Smith, sales director at Redrow South West, said: “As well as bringing much-needed, high-quality homes to the area, we are proud to support the growth and sustainability of the Alphington community as part of our St Michael’s Meadow development.”We are committed to creating thriving communities at each and every new development we build and we want to ensure our contributions benefit those in the local area as well as those moving into a new home.”With investment supporting local education, transport links and the wider area, it’s an exciting time for us and for those in the community and we are proud to be a part of further enhancing this fantastic region.”
