Up to 120 Herefordshire homes near green light

An application proposing the construction of up to 120 homes in Herefordshire has been recommended for approval ahead of a planning committee meeting later this week.Gladman Developments Ltd is seeking outline permission to develop about 11.6 acres of agricultural grassland on the western edge of Bromyard.The submission sets out that a range of densities and house types would be provided, along with a 40 per cent rate of affordable housing.Herefordshire Council’s planning committee will consider the application on 25 October.A report for the committee said: “Subject to a well considered reserved matters application(s), it is reasonable to conclude that there would be no adverse environmental impact; or if any do arise, that they would be of such insufficient magnitude to outweigh the benefits of providing residential development, including affordable housing, in a sustainable location.”As such, the proposal is judged to be in accordance with the policies of the development plan and is therefore found to be representative of a sustainable form of development.”
