Supported living scheme planned for college site
Plans have been submitted for the transformation of a vacant Heart of Worcestershire College site to enable the creation of a supported living development.Macc Group is seeking planning permission to redevelop the site of Osprey House on Albert Street, Redditch.Osprey House, which extends to 29,941 sq ft, would be retained and converted into 33 supported living apartments.Meanwhile, an 83-bed care home would act as an extension to existing infrastructure to the north.The proposed care home includes a dayspace lounge/dining/cinema, cafe/bistro and a hair and nail salon.A statement filed with Bromsgrove District Council on behalf of the applicant said: “The new development has many benefits and is sensitive to the existing site in connection to its design, use and appearance.”The proposal will provide the client with a purpose-built facility that will meet the brief, operational requirements and will comply to local planning policies.”
