Morgan Sindall to complete design of Ardrossan Community Campus
NORTH Ayrshire Council has appointed Morgan Sindall to complete the design of the new Ardrossan Community Campus.The local authority said that the campus will be a ‘very’ energy-efficient building and will be designed to meet Passivhaus Classic standards.To be built at North Shore in Ardrossan, the site is currently undergoing extensive remediation and construction of the new campus will not begin until remediation works are completed next year.The new facility will comprise early years, primary, and secondary school with additional support needs. The shared community facilities will also include a library, learning hub, and indoor sports facilities including swimming pool, sports hall, gymnasium, dance studio & fitness studio, outdoor sports facilities including two sports pitches and a multi-use games area (MUGA). There will also be an outdoor learning landscape, recreational, and growing spaces, along with associated parking and infrastructureMorgan Sindall Construction’s MD for Scotland, Stuart Parker, said, “The Ardrossan Community Campus will deliver first-class learning facilities built to Passivhaus standards, reflecting our two-fold objective of providing high-quality educational spaces that are also sustainable and energy efficient for future generations.“It’s a privilege to work with North Ayrshire Council who share our vision of creating spaces that not only benefit students but the local community.
