Request for a contractor to supply, install and commission a 3T MRI system.
The contractor will be responsible for the supply of a fully operational 3T MRI system, enhancing the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities and contributing to improved patient care.
Installation must adhere to technical specifications and safety standards, commissioning with testing, calibration, and validation to guarantee optimal functionality of a 3T MRI machine at the hospital.
The contractor will develop and implement staff training programmes on equipment operation and maintenance.
3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging Systems – Technical specifications
Patient gantry
magnet bore (including covers) must not be less than 70 cm at the narrowest point and indicate option for compact bore
cover to cover length must be no more than 2m
Patient table
patient table must have a weight limit of minimum 200 kg (440 lb.) when fully extended
patient table must be at least 200 cm long
patient table must be motorised in vertical and longitudinal axes
Magnet
primary magnetic field strength must be 3T variation from the desitred operation within +/-10%
guaranteed field homogeneity must be less than 0.15 ppm within a 30 cm diameter spherical volume. Guaranteed field homogeneity must be less than 1.0 ppm within a 50 cm diameter spherical volume
useable FOV should be at least 50 x 50 x 45 cm
active shielding must be used to maintain homogeneity during image acquisition

Gradient and Radio Frequency subsystems

gradient subsystem must have a rise time to full strength of 0.6 milliseconds or less with a slew rate of 200 Tesla/meter/sec along each axis with a 100% duty cycle for full FOV
radio frequency sub system must have at least 32 independent channels or equivalent
system must include parallel imaging techniques to accelerate image acquisition
shortest repetition time must be no more than 1.6 milliseconds
shortest echo time must be no greater than 0.3 milliseconds
supplier must specify and describe all standard pulse sequences included with the system
RF transmit hardware must include a means to reduce artifacts caused by the dielectric effect
it must be possible to plan a scan projection in any orientation
system must have integrated ECG gating using wireless technology
system must have integrated respiratory gating using wireless technology
system must include echo planar imaging pulse sequences
