A railway operator requires the supply of traction battery for battery electric locomotives.
Scope of works:
battery sets shall be designed and tested in accordance with the relevant electrical and railway standards (eg IEC60077, IEC60896-21, BS6853, NFF16-101, NFX70-100 and IEC61373 or equivalent)
the battery crate and cell case shall be flame retardant and low smoke
the quantity required is 235 crates of lead acid battery and 28 crates of gel type batteries
the operating life shall not be less than 5 years after installation
the supplier must also collect and dispose of the used batteries and crates
